Once you register for Apex Motion, you become one of our employees.
We receive payment from your agency for the hours you have worked, from which we will make any necessary deductions from, such as National Insurance, Income Tax, our margin and Pension. Apex will then pay the relevant deductions straight across to HMRC, so you don’t have to worry about it.
However, with Motion, you have the added benefit of being able to offset genuine business related expenses against your tax and National Insurance to provide tax relief.
The money you receive into your bank account is your take home pay.
There’s no joining fee to register with Apex. Our competitive margin structure is quoted upon registration and is based upon your chosen payment option and the amount you earn. It’s also taken directly from the funds we receive from your agency before any other deductions are made, e.g. tax and NI contributions.
The following benefits (and more) come as standard with our Motion service…
We’re here to respond to any queries you may have regarding either your registration or your payment.
All payments processed by Apex are paid via the Faster Payment system as standard.
We keep the amount of paperwork you need to complete to an absolute minimum.
From the moment you register you’re entitled to Personal Accident, Professional Indemnity, Public and Employers Liability insurance cover where applicable to your assignment.
Umbrella employees are entitled to all employment benefits such as Holiday Pay, Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay.
You’ll be kept to to date re your payments via SMS and email.
As a contractor you may have multiple end-clients. With Motion, however, we remain your employer even when you seek a new assignment. This continuity of employment will make it easier to get credit or apply for a mortgage.
As a Motion employee, you won’t be subject to supervision, direction or control (SDC). As a result, you can offset your business expenses against your tax and National Insurance to provide tax relief.
This pay model is designed for PAYE contractors who are not subject to Supervision, Direction or Control (otherwise known as SDC) and wish to claim business related expenses.
If you are subject to SDC then you are not eligible to claim business expenses and so cannot become a Motion employee.
We support our contractors from the very beginning of the process, guiding you through registration and chasing your pay from the agency. Our Contractor Liaison Officers are on hand to go through any queries you may have and work hard to resolve any issues that may arise.
Every contractor we pay has to go through our compliance process during registration to ensure they can be paid. This makes sure that 100% of our contractors are 100% compliant.
You work hard and deserve to be paid correctly, on time and with the minimum of fuss. At Apex, we’re dedicated to making sure that happens without fail, each and every week.
We don’t believe that you should have to deal with hidden extra costs or legislation that you weren’t expecting, which is why we are clear upon registration what we charge and what is expected of you.
We always ask security questions before we’ll engage with you. If you don’t pass these questions, we won’t give any information out. This helps reduce fraud, safeguarding your information in the process.
